WINTER

The primary program type available at GDI's Satellite facilities is the 24-week winter program. Each program (one visit per week) can be catered to a specific goalie's development needs by selecting one of three GDI progressions.

The progressions that are available in this 24-week format are the REG1, ADV2 and HP3 programs. As a brief overview, the REG1 program is geared towards beginner-level goaltenders while the ADV2 is designed for intermediate goalies that have established a fundamental skill level. Finally, the HP3 is designed for high-level goaltenders looking for a more sophisticated development environment.

Each of these 24-week programs is housed in our Satellite facility, which is dedicated specifically to goaltender development. These sessions are conducted on synthetic ice on our 24'x 72' rinks.

To tour a Satellite facility, select a location from the locations menu and follow the directions.

SUMMER  [Back to top]

Summer programming available through our Satellites carries all of the hallmarks of GDI's National programming. The primary difference between a Satellite camp and a National camp is the day versus residential format.

The other primary difference is the progressions available. In Satellite regions, GDI provides its REG1 and ADV2 summer camps (contrary to National Camps in which the HP3 and P4 programs are available).

More detailed information related to GDI's summer camps is available through our PDF camp brochure. To download this document click here.

PSM Program

GDI uses its proprietary training creases to dramatically improve a goalie's movement ability. These 10' x 10' synthetic surfaces provide a perfect environment for developing outstanding position-specific movement. Each program allows the goalie to follow computer navigated moves on a screen in front of them. Again, REG1, ADV2 and HP3 movement progressions are available.

In most cases, these PSM programs are completed in conjunction with a 24-week winter program. The outstanding feature of PSM work is that any improvement that occurs in a goalie's movement game has a global impact on every facet of a goalie's game. Coaching Programs

Individuals who are interested in improving their ability to coach and mentor goalies can attend a monthly program that is available free of charge to minor hockey coaches. You must contact the Satellite center in your area to register for this program. The primary purpose behind these community outreach programs is to enhance the coach's ability to manage the goaltending position. This, in turn, will improve the environment for goalies in these club situations.

Skill-Specific Programs  [Back to top]

Periodically, Satellite Centers will run weekend clinics related to specific skill groups. For example, a rebound control program is made available along with a puckhandling/transition program.
