Drew made his National Hockey League debut at HP Pavilion in San Jose on December 13, 2007. With Roberto Luongo out with a rib injury, MacIntyre was recalled to back up starter Curtis Sanford on the Vancouver Canucks earlier in the week. The Sharks opened up a 3-0 second period lead, and MacIntyre came into the game. Vancouver closed the margin to 3-2 midway through the third, but the team allowed goals to Joe Thornton and Steve Bernier in a 5-2 defeat. MacIntyre stopped nine of eleven shots, earning a no decision.
