Originally drafted by the Broncos in the 2003 Bantam Draft, Travis relies on his speed to often make acrobatic saves. A self-described second effort goalie, Travis never gives up on a play until he has possession of the puck. Last season, Yonkman appeared in 57 games winning an impressive 31 games against 19 losses with a 2.67 GAA.
Travis says the biggest influence in his hockey career has been his cousin, Nolan of the Washington Capitals, because he was like a big brother to him while he was growing up. Yonkman's greatest hockey achievement so far has been winning the 2004 Telus Cup. He enjoys playing for the Broncos because of the great fan support and great teammates. Travis plays golf and tennis when not playing hockey and says that his favorite opponents are Kelowna and Calgary because he likes to play in front of large crowds.
