Stand Alone

Sabourin, Dany

 BIO
* Selected by Calgary Flames in fourth round (108th overall) of National Hockey League entry draft, 1998. * Re-signed by Calgary, June 25, 2003. * Signed by Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (AHL), September 25, 2004. * Signed as free agent by Pittsburgh Penguins, August 10, 2005. * Claimed off waivers by Vancouver Canucks, October 4, 2006. * Signed as unrestricted free agent to two-year contract by Pittsburgh Penguins, July 1, 2007. On October 29, 2003, Dany made his National Hockey League debut for the Calgary Flames, in Dallas against the Dallas Stars. Called up from AHL Lowell to back up Jamie McLennan after first-string netminder Roman Turek was felled with a knee injury, Dany was given the opportunity to start, and kept the Flames in the game through regulation allowing three goals to Bill Guerin, but none other. Unfortunately for Sabourin and the Flames, Jason Arnott scored seventeen seconds into overtime for Dallas, sending Sabourin home with the loss. "I felt good in the net," Sabourin said after the game. "I made a great stop before the second goal and I was hoping that would carry us through. It just didn't."
